“Culture shock”

(Leo is an immigrant who lived in Tanzania. He came to Spain a few days ago and we have interviewed him to know what his first impression was)

Interviewer: What was your feeling of the country when you first saw the streets full of people?

Leo: I’ve never seen something like that. In Tanzania, everything is very different; there are no highways, shops, big buildings…  I was very impressed when I saw so many people in the streets with lots of bags full of things they bought …

Interviewer: And what do you think about the culture?

Leo: I’m living in Malaga which is a city from Andalusia. People are very funny and kind here. There are a lot of people who are very religious. At Easter, people go out and they hold processions, all these thrones surely are very expensive and I was thinking about what would happened if people from my country had the money the thrones cost. Food is very different too, meals have lots of different tastes, and there are many plates on the tableat bars. everythingis very different, all this food is a dreamfor me because we don’t have enough money to buy a lot in my country.

Interviewer: Oh well, what was your first experience on a job’s interview?

Leo: When they saw me, at first I didn’t know what to do because I had never attended an interview but the man who was going to do it was very kind to me and even having difficulties with the language, he hired me so I’m very thankful for that.

Interviewed: I’m so happy for that! Thanks for you time.
